Summary

on Saturday April 25th A dangerous magnitude of 7.8 earthquake shook Kathmandu, Nepal. 2,870 people are known dead with more people left unknown. Nepal's hospitals had to move all patients outside and all patients are being tooken outside inside tents. Nepal's is trying to receive as much relief support as possible but neighboring countries were having trouble. Since planes were struggling to fly in cloudy weather and because of the aftershocks Kathmandu airport was closed and roads were blocked by landslides.

Response
I feel like more countries should be helping out to give support to the Nepal's. America should send in more planes in a different direction avoiding the land slides so more supplies can be delivered. More people that survived the wreckage should be taking orderly jobs to work together I helping the injured. I'm worried how the people that were already sick from the hospital and the added wounded from the wreckage has enough doctors to take care of them. They should send more american doctors to help with the relief. All is other countries need to realize the major disaster at hand and send more help to the Nepal's.

News for the week of Genocide recognization

     Summary

Today April 26th, people came together to rally the deaths of the killings of Armenians during World War 1 by the Ottoman empire. People came together because it was the centennial of the deaths. Senator Charles Schumer and Jewish rally speakers including Taner Akcam who is Turkish born scholar who supports the cause of realizing it was a genocide Armenian Genocide Centennial Committee of America sponsored the event to get people together to realize this wrong. This situation was stirred up since the pope last week brought up the Armenian deaths stating it as a genocide, which angered turkey greatly.

people gathering for the rally in time square

Response
i did a previous article on when the pope used the word genocide when mentioning the Armenian deaths...I didn't think it would stir up this much controversy. At first I wondered what the popes intention was when he said this and I think hes getting exactly what he wanted. He stirred this up enough and now more people are realizing the truth behind the Armenian deaths. The weird thing is I've never heard of any kind of these Armenian deaths or the genocide I had no idea about it. Since turkey is allianced with america I wonder if they shelter us from what truly happened, How come more of us don't know about it? This seems weird this is only taking action now so many years later. I guess they just needed the Popes influential push to get everyone's attention.

News for the week : Irbil suicide bombing

                                                                       Summary
On April 18th a suicide bombing near the U.S Consulate in Irbil, Iraq ended up killing 4 people and injuring 18. Later on several of ISIS twitter accounts they claimed they were part of that bombing and purposely directed the bombing towards the U.S Consulate. Helicopters surrounded neighbor hood and looked for survivors. The surviving people in the U.S Consulate announced on the loud speaker for everyone to get into there homes immediately and stay safe. ISIS stated on there twitter account there wanting to kill everyone, in the U.S consulate because of the state of tension the ISIS terrorists are in with the U.S.

                                                                Response
I believe the U.S consulate should have more protection against these terrorist bombings. They know more then anyone the tension between them and ISIS they could be killed at any moment by them. Yet, there not prepared letting four people die. This should be a warning for them if they don't work on there protection from ISIS there could be way less survivors next time. I also feel the people of Irbil should be more on the look out for suspicious peoples. More bombings could be avoided this way as well.

News for the week of India's Air pollution

                                                                          Summary

last week the air was testing how polluted the air was in Beijing compared to Delhi,India. Beijing was said to be the most air polluted cities by last years testing India's air was tested to over 45,000 PM limits while compared to London there PM totals to 2.5-57 which is still bad but compared to India is like a dream. Due to the amount of air pollution in India there has 1.3 million deaths annually because of lung cancer. Each time you step outside in India you are breathing toxic air. PM levels even inside a Delhi home total to 44,000 which is highly dangerous and unbreathable. India's air is nearly twice as toxic then any other city. The cause is for obvious reasons mainly for the brick kiln chimney's on the outskirts of the city and other factories.

the usual 'fog' or smoke that is India

                                                                 Response

How India is still moving and functioning is mind-blowing to me. Though the solution is that America steps in and prevents this problem because i wont be long before this kind of air reaches us. I believe as a nation were sleeping on this problem. Its only getting worse and worse everyday and if we don't choose to fix it the problem will only come to us. There is no way you can be healthy and live in India, by the U.S not helping India we are letting them die slowly. Each day people are breathing in toxins and becoming sick. I believe this is only the beginning and we have to start working on every nation or the world will all become polluted soon enough.

On, April 19th a boat with over 700 migrants from Libya capsized (flipped over) on the Mediterranean, with only 28 survivors that have been rescued. People from Libya have been trying to escape Libya and travel by boat to Italy illegally for the past three years, today Italy takes action against it. The EU-(Italy's border patrol) has been noticed for there bad work on not noticing the Libyan migrants. Prime Minister Matteo Renzi has led calls for the EU-(European Union) to take more action against the migrants. 31,500 people have crossed the Italian border just this year. Italian Officials are rescuing more migrants each day.
                                                     Boat from Libya to Italy

                                                                Response

I feel very emotional and undecided about this topic, if i put myself in the Libyan citizens shoes and i feel for them truthfully i want them to live in Italy even though it's illegal because they are not citizens. Truthfully i want them to make it to Italy secretly. But putting Myself in Italy's shoes and i feel angry that the EU let this happen for so long. Maybe if they noticed sooner more people would have been saved instead of them dying. I think instead of blocking the Libyans from coming through they should send help to lib ya and help them so there citizens don't feel like escaping. And call for American help as well to help Libya in their crisis.

News for the week of Pope Francis starting conflict with Turkey

Summary
In Rome, for Sunday mass on April 12, Pope Francis stirs trouble with Turkey. Pope Francis stated that the first genocide of 20th century occurred during World War 1 era when the Ottoman-Turks slaughtered the Armenians. Pope Francis highlighted the word 'genocide' in his speech, trying to prove that what the Ottoman-Turks did was a genocide not just slaughtering. Ottoman-Turks  slaughtering of the Armenians was not usually seen as a genocide but truthfully it was. Pope Francis elucidated on the fact that we overlook what Turkey did during the WW1 era and that if we simply forget what they did then "we are letting the wound bleed without it being bandaged". We have to realize what they have done and learn from it rather then sleep on it. This speech was true and simple, but left a big impact, Leaving Turkey angry with the Pope bringing up Turkey's mistakes from the past and calling there slaughtering a 'genocide'. Pope Francis was trying to stir up a bigger storm by the actual apperance of an armenian president Serzh Sargsyan at the church mass. Turkey was very dissapointed/ angry by these statements, that Turkish officials called Archbishop Antonio Lucibello( Vatican's Ambassador ) to Turkey's capital Ankara, and told him that Turkey's government's dissapointment in the Pope's remarks, that were false and offensive. Pope Francis has started controversy, unknown yet how we will achieve peace again.

                                            Pope with Armenian's Supreme Patriarch

Response
Although the Pope does make a good point that we should not forget the mass murder the Ottoman-Turks have done, bringing it up this way was to problematic. The Pope has created unnecessary drama with Turkey. I believe peace should always be kept, and that causing conflict between countries is a useless thing to do. I think buy the Pope using the word genocide was a mistake because that’s too extreme a word and his message could have been told but in a less offensive way. I believe the Pope is in the wrong. But, He did achieve what he wanted and that’s for us to not forget what was done.

News for the week of the Impeachment of President Rousseff

Summary

On Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro, another protest occurred for president Dilma Rousseff to be impeached. President Rousseff was recently elected for her 2nd term in Brazil but winning back the people wont be so easy for the scandal that occurred. People of Brazil were outraged by the 'Petrobras Scandal': Petrobras oil company caused the biggest scandal of Brazil. Petrobras was caught for money laundering and 3.7 billion worth of suspicious payments. While this scandal was going on President Rousseff happened to be the energy minister and Chairmen of Petrobras during the scandal before she was elected. People suspect President Rousseff was working with the company on there illegal acts. The Brazilian people have lost faith in there president and can not trust her, but that's not the only reason for there protesting. President Rousseff has horrible performance this presidential term and has scored historically low approval ratings along with a crackling economy and political infighting. Although President Rouseff's second term has caused several protests, Brazilian citizens continue to protest as they did in Rio de Janeiro on April 12th.

Protest for the impeachment of President Rouseff  in Rio de Janiero  on Copacabana beach

     Response

Putting myself in a Brazilian citizens shoes, frankly i would be confused. There's no exact proof that President Rousseff is guilty for the 'Petrobras Scandal', so I'm not sure i could outright be ready to protest her for that. I don't understand why these rallies are so numbered when there's no validated proof of her being guilty of the scandal. I feel that the connection with her and the scandal should be more investigated before making assumptions. But, there are still other problems that i would be scared of if i were a citizen. The economy plummeting is something that needs to be fixed right away. Rousseff should try to end the rallies by admitting her wrongs on Live television and try to simply improve, if she can not fix the economy then i too think she should be impeached. I believe The probability of Rousseff winning the trust back of Brazil is very low considering how long these rallies have been going on, and how people are only increasing in each rally.
